On March 1st, when a nasty storm named Emma met up with a blast of arctic weather over the UK, it produced vicious wind, heavy snow, and a whole lot of trouble for residents and tourists alike. Roads impassable, flights canceled, and temperatures that dipped into negative digits.
As roads and rooftops were covered in snow and ice, some UK officers noticed one building in particular had a nice, clear roof. Upon investigating further, they were greeted by a very distinctive scent: cannabis.
Unfortunately for this grow operation, officers busted down the door and found £80k in cannabis. The heat lamps that kept the plants happy resulted in a roof too warm to blend in with its neighbors.
Officer James Butterfield was quick to tweet about the bust on twitter, where he tweeted “Removing this filth from the streets is always great.”
It’s not clear why, but his account is currently set to private and the tweet deleted. Maybe he caught a bit of blowback?
